Developers can opt in to share their API usage data to help improve the platform, in exchange for an extra 100,000 free tokens per month (600,000 total).
How it works
- It's OFF by default and requires explicit opt-in with a clear consent step. You can turn it off any time.
- When enabled, we store the full content of API requests and responses — complete prompts/messages (system prompts, user content, images), full model responses, and metadata (model, token counts, timestamps).
Don't enable Data Sharing if your requests contain confidential, personal, or sensitive information.
Important billing nuance
The +100,000 bonus is part of the same monthly free pool. If you disable Data Sharing after using tokens beyond the base 500,000, the bonus is removed immediately and your remaining balance can go negative for the rest of the month until the monthly reset.
Example: if you've used 506,000 tokens and disable sharing, you'll be at -6,000 until the reset.
