The Crux Cloud music library and playlists

Upload audio to Crux Cloud and it appears automatically in the Music library. There is no separate import step — anything in the supported formats is picked up.

How your library is built

Crux Cloud reads the tags embedded in each file — title, artist, album, track number, year, and genre — and uses them to group your library into Albums, Artists, and Genres. Cover art embedded in the file is used as the album artwork.

Supported formats include MP3, M4A, and FLAC among others.

When tags are wrong or missing

Files ripped or downloaded years ago often have missing or wrong tags, which is why a track shows up under "Unknown Artist" or splits an album in two. Open the file's details and edit its metadata — the fix is written back to the file, and the library regroups.

The player

The player sits at the bottom of the window and keeps playing as you move around Crux Cloud. It has the usual transport controls plus a queue you can reorder while listening.

Playlists

  • Create a playlist and add tracks to it from anywhere in the library.
  • Reorder tracks by dragging.
  • Rename a playlist, or set a custom cover image.
  • Delete a playlist — this removes the playlist only, never the audio files.

Shared playlists

Playlists can be collaborative. Invite another Crux ID user and they can add tracks to it alongside you. Collaborators are managed from the playlist itself: remove someone with uninvite, or bow out of someone else's playlist with leave.

Collaborators can add and see the playlist, but audio files stay owned by whoever uploaded them and still count against that person's storage.
