Editing a site: Preview, Design, Files, and App data

Every Site Builder project opens into one editor with four views, switched from the toolbar. The assistant panel stays available in all of them, so you can ask CruxAI for a change instead of making it by hand at any point.

Preview

Your site running privately, exactly as a visitor would see it. Use the device buttons to check it at desktop, tablet, and phone sizes — phone especially, since that is where layout problems show up first.

Design

A visual editor. Select anything on the page to edit it in place, or drag in new pieces from the library:

  • Sections — hero, section, columns, cards, navigation, footer.
  • Elements — heading, text, button, image, divider, spacer.

Pages are managed from the same pane, and Project images holds anything you upload for use in the design. Undo and redo cover your visual edits; changes apply when you select Save design.

Files

Direct access to the project source. Edit any file yourself when you want precise control. A project can hold up to 60 files, each up to 512 KB in the editor, with a total project size limit of 12 MB.

App data

This is what separates a site from an app. Declare what your app should remember — customers, bookings, tasks, orders, anything people create while using it — and CruxAI handles the technical setup. There is also an Allow sign-in switch that lets visitors create accounts in your app.

Data changes stay private until you publish.

Letting CruxAI review the work

Three review actions live in the Actions menu:

  • Check layout — reviews components and phone sizing.
  • Design audit — a critique of the complete experience.
  • Polish interface — refines hierarchy, typography, spacing, and interaction.

Arranging the workspace

The Layout menu hides the assistant, moves it to the other side, hides the current sidebar, or resets everything to the default sizes. On a phone, the assistant opens from its own button.
