Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step at sign-in so a password alone isn't enough to access your account. Crux ID supports three verification methods:

  • Authenticator app (TOTP) — use an app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password to generate time-based codes.
  • Email code — a one-time code sent to your account email.
  • Backup codes — one-time-use codes to keep in a safe place for when you can't use your primary method.

Turn it on

  1. Go to account.cruxinteractive.com and open the Security area.
  2. Enable two-factor authentication and choose your method.
  3. If you pick an authenticator app, scan the QR code and confirm a code to finish.
  4. Save your backup codes somewhere safe.
Store your backup codes where you can find them even without your phone. If you lose access to all methods, contact admin@cruxinteractive.com.
